Introduction on raw material of lightweight EPS wall panel
Since ancient times masonry walls are the main component in the housing sector and it has brittle characteristics and exhibit poor performance against the uncertain loads. Further, the structure requires heavier sections for carrying the dead weight of masonry walls. S.L Machinery develops a simple, lightweight and cost effective technology for replacing the existing wall systems. The lightweight concrete is developed for the construction of sandwich wall panel. The EPS beads of 4-6 mm diameter size are mixed with cement concrete and developed a lightweight concrete with a density 9 kN/m³. Sandwich wall panel is composed of cement, fly ash, EPS (expanded polystyrene foam particles), foam agent and additives (such as hydroxymethyl cellulose, reusable dispersion emulsion powder, water reducing agent etc.), mixing with water according to certain proportion, then grouting and forming.
The lightweight sandwich panel is cast with a lightweight concrete inner core and reinforcement outer skins. This lightweight EPS wall panel is tested for in-plane compression loading. The scientific test and study showed that the lightweight concrete is well suitable for the lightweight sandwich wall panel.
